Ocala Magazine
July Issue – 2016
Goal: To design a cohesive monthly publication covering several topics, including local dining, medical news, home improvement, art, and Ocala’s own Forty Under 40.
Ocala Magazine is Central Florida’s definitive regional magazine, with over 40 years of publication. As an intern, I quickly adapted to the editor’s content, the art director’s design templates, and the established brand of Ocala Magazine, while integrating my personal design style and vision for the issue. I designed over 50% of the feature article pages and assisted on many others. During this project, it was crucial to achieve a level of excellence of work while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

During this project, I saw flat plans in action. I applied the planning tools and management practices I used here in many future projects.
The Tangled In Art feature piece was a continuation of a series highlighting local salons creating looks inspired by paintings. It was important to keep the same tone of the earlier components of this series while adding a unique touch that reflects this article.
“Bradlee worked with Ocala Magazine as part of an internship program through Pensacola Christian College. She displayed exceptional graphic design skills and is an impressively creative young lady with a very bright future ahead of her. We are sad to see her leave the team but wish her tons of success in her future academic and personal endeavors.” – The Ocala Magazine Team
